I've suffered as all humans do. I've cared for a very sick father, mother and grandmother for years before they passed away...I've had a husband leave me for another woman, had to get a job and raise a son, and bore that pain...I've had a brother murdered when he was 15 and through out my life I've battled every step of the way for acceptance and approval. When I was still in the work force I faced daily adversities. But I always poured my frustration, grief, joy and what I'd learned into my writing. It always helped. <br />Linda...it's really hard to rerelease old books. You grow so much with time and suddenly what you wrote 30 years ago means something entirely different. It took me A LOT of rewriting for the very old books...they really needed it! It's a lot of work. But worth it. Blood Forge, after 23 years, I decided I hated, but I'd signed the contract so I had to get it out. I discovered I still loved my THE LAST VAMPIRE and the good response to it has proven me right...it's up for an EPIC this weekend. Now with one left of the older 14 to get out (my first 1984 novel from Leisure EVIL STALKS THE NIGHT coming out again in July 2012) I've come full circle. It's been quite a journey. Good luck to you all! Never give up! Sometimes your writing will make you miserable but other times it'll bring you such great joy, believe me. I wonder where the road will lead me now... Have you any advice on how to make your own genre? I really enjoyed this information. Keep writing cause you are a super writer and I love your work.<br />Sincerely,<br />Linda Hays-Gibbs<br />"My Angel, My Light As Darkness Falls"Linda Hays-Gibbshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07789612750493296950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8065990335777175744.post-89404269656227225792012-03-15T10:39:03.498-07:002012-03-15T10:39:03.498-07:00I am excited for you about your rerelease of "...I am excited for you about your rerelease of "Vampire Blood" I have three previous books that I am not happy with now and I would love to redo a lot of the material. I hope that I will be able to do that one day soon. I wish I had started writing earlier because I love it so much. Are there any hints or advice to authors about rereleasing your books, like is it hard to reedit old material? I bet you are equally excited about the coming rerelease of your other books. I wish you the greatest luck on all of it for you are a favourite person of mine.Linda Hays-Gibbshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07789612750493296950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8065990335777175744.post-27491378908667436082012-03-15T09:57:42.739-07:002012-03-15T09:57:42.739-07:00Hi Kathryn-Fascinating stuff!
